Hello, I am Asta Moro (Morozoviene).
In my childhood I was involved in children’s dancing groups where I had basic ballet and folk dance training. In my teens I was professionally trained as a Lithuanian folk instrument teacher and performer, attending music school from age 12, and continued at college till age 19. I then decided to change from one art form to another and studied drama. I acquired Drama and Stage Movement BA degree at Klaipeda University in 1997.
I have worked with different theatre companies as an actress and show presenter and created my own radio talk-show for local radio in Lithuania, where I was born.
When I moved to the UK, I discovered an Argentine Tango.
My first encounter with Tango was in 2004 in London. I have attended numerous Tango lessons, and slowly became involved helping at a variety of Tango clubs, teaching and dancing. My first memorable tango dance exhibition was in Vilnius (Lithuania) in 2008 where Indance company invited me and the Tango South London club resident teacher, Luis Rodriguez, to teach and perform at their intensive Tango Workshop weekend.
Subsequently an opportunity to deepen my tango knowledge came in 2009 when I was invited to teach and dance in France, where I spent 7 months. On my return to the UK, I decided to continue teaching Tango as my main profession.
